PostSubject: Dealings in death.    Dealings in death. EmptyMon Jul 13, 2015 2:39 am

The city outside was booming, filled with music and excited chatter, everyone in the Capitol eagerly awaiting the beginning of the 89th Hunger Games. Inside the tribute trailing facility though, it was hushed. The trainers were already standing in the center of the work out arena, lined by district as they awaited their tributes. This would be their first time meeting this years unfortunate souls, and being every trainer had already spent their own time in the games, the mood was tense with discord.
Slowly, as though they were walking into an execution, the tributes were lead in.
One by one the trainers would step forward, calling out their district and anxiously waiting to see which two tributes would come to greet them.

Sterling Knox was never very excited on years he had to be a trainer. He was not a killing machine like District 1 trainers were expected to be. He had won his games by sliding to the end and relying on larger physical threats. He never had much to teach his tributes. But regardless, he stepped forward once they had all arrived.
"1?" He spoke, skeptically eyeing the line and hoping he would get two that were not completely incompetent like the past few years. It'd been nearly five years since a District 1 tribute had taken home the victory.

One of the tallest tributes moved forward, a smirk twisting his lips as his eyes trailed Sterling. "Ayy Trainer man! Im your guy." He spoke with a wink, taking his time and circling Sterling before finally resting at the mans side. "I can't wait to learn all of your tricks..." He was obviously hinting at something more, prompting a few of the other tributes and trainers to roll their eyes in disgust.

Sterling though, did not mind. Not at all. He returned the boy's smirk, eyeing him closely.
"I'll be sure to teach you everything I know." He grinned slyly, hardly noticing as the other tribute approached them.
Jace had been quite excited to be chosen at the reaping with this gorgeous boy. But now, it was apparent that he had no chance. Piper's attention would be on Sterling.

Piper was a man of many pleasures being he hailed from the luxurious District 1. Because of this, he didn't hesitate to curl his arm around Jace's waist, holding the boy just as he was holding Sterling.
"Don't worry lil' mama. There's plenty of Piper to pass around. "
One of the smaller tributes snarled, his upper lip curling as he lost his patients.
"That's fucking enough! You nasty pig shitters! Just fucking go already!" The boy spoke savagely, gaining the disapproval of many trainers and tributes alike. He didn't seem to notice though. Being from one of the poverty stricken districts he got those looks often.
Roman Roden moved forward next, a towering monster of a man with muscles to spare. He always had mixed feelings entering these games as a trainer. Of course he had a lot to teach, he had won his hunger games using smarts and brute strength. He knew very well what course of action should be taken. It was always painful for him though, spending two weeks training with two children only to send at least one of them off to their death. Last year he had been lucky enough to see one of his tributes survive.
"My district is two." The man waited then, with baited breath to see what he would lose this year.

Dallas had been waiting to see who his trainer would be. He tried not to watch the games most years, so he hadn't watched the year that Roman won, but everyone knew the man. He was one of the most well known victors in recent history. Dallas was thankful to have him as his trainer. Maybe he would stand a chance after all.
"Dallas Reynolds." He introduced as he extended a hand to the larger man.

"Dallas," Roman repeated in his strong steady pull, his large hand closing over the tributes in a firm handshake. "Nice name kid. Wish I could say it was good to meet you." Roman already felt the familiar bite of worry in his chest. He had always wanted kids, so naturally he had the terrible habit of getting close to the young teenagers he was faced with training.
And after that?
He was given the joy of watching them be slaughtered.
The other tribute from two had dark sun kissed skin and golden earrings that dangled together when he moved. His eyes were fatigued and hateful, taking Dallas in as though he were already dead.
"Trafalgar Law." The boy spoke, not bothering to shake Romans hand. "I'll be the winner of this years games, so make sure to let everyone know who to bet on, oui."

Dallas disliked the cocky attitude, but he couldn't deny that Trafalgar was sort of gorgeous. At least he'd have something to look at as his death approached.
"That attitude will get you killed sooner rather than later." Dallas warned the boy lightly as the three of them moved out of the way.
Zachariah Torres stepped forward, arms folded across his chest as he called out.
"District 3?"
He hoped he didn't get two complete hopeless cases this year.

"That attitude," Law's eyes lazily flickered over to Dallas, his smile crooked as it twisted his lips. "Is going to draw the other tributes to me, oui. I wont even have to hunt anyone." He had been planning this for years, even before his name was pulled at the reaping. He didn't want to enter the games stunned and surprised. He had a game plan.
The first district three tribute to step forward wasn't especially large or muscled. Instead he looked like a common from the district. Someone who would have spent their entire life working in the factories, or at least until his hands were too haggard to keep up and he was forced to spend his remaining days as a beggar on the streets.
"You can call me Stein. I don't answer to Holland." It was the only introduction the boy offered, standing lamely off to Zach's side.

While the first tribute looked like a common district three member, the second boy that stepped forward looked very below average. It took all Zach had not to groan as the tall lanky boy introduced himself.
"Sinclair." He spoke quietly. His entire body was tensed, showing that he was clearly nervous and uncomfortable, which was not an impression you wanted to make on the first day. Sinclair merely stepped off to the side near Stein when Zach extended a hand, not wanting to make any physical contact.

A boisterous mocking laugh rang out immediately as Sinclair stepped forward. "Oh holy thit! I knew dithrict three wath pathetic but damn!" Sawyer, the trainer of district four was already throwing stones, hoping to further embarrass the already laughable team of tributes. "You bitheth going down like your trainer goeth down on my dick!" Of course he had never had any sexual interactions with Zach, but it was his favorite pass time to make degrading passes at the other contenders and their trainer. In the end it would put them off their game, and hopefully cost them their lives. "Now leths go already!" Sawyer drug out the "y" obnoxiously, elbowing Stein and Sinclair by 'accident' as he passed them on his way to the front.
"Dithrict four, i'll be kicking your atheth for the next two weekth. Prethent yourthelveth!" Sawyer wasn't concerned with his team, or their lives. He did this for fun, because he enjoyed the brutality of it.

Dylan Jardine was confident in his ability to succeed this year, but he was not looking forward to the next two weeks of training with this lunatic.
"Dylan Jardine." He still spoke confidently as he approached the man, not bothering to go for a handshake.

"A Jardine, eh?"  Sawyer sneered at the boy, having never cared much for the famous Jardine family of district four. "I give you a fucking week, but im altho willing to make a deal."  Sawyer never initiated any sort of contact himself unless it was violent.  "If you lath longer than that, i'll perthonally thponthor you. Whatever you need."  His teeth gleamed in the light as he smiled. "Howth that thound?"
"Yo! What about me holmes? What do I get if I last that long?"  The other tribute from four came bounding over, his shoulder length black hair curling around his face.  It wasn't enough to hide the freckles though.  They seemed vast, stretching across arms and cheeks, creeping down the boys neck and promising more on his chest and torso. "The names Ace!"  The boy was tall and lanky, with square shoulders and a broad smile.
Sawyer could only scowl at him.
"Leth juth hope you don't thurvive that long." The trainer muttered almost venomously, shoving the two boys back into the line up.

"You'll only last that long if I choose to drag you with me." Dylan spoke to the lanky freckled boy by his side. He wasn't really such a conceited person, but he knew he had to be while he was here or some of the bigger tributes would eat him alive. "And that sounds like a great deal." Dylan nodded with a smirk to his trainer. He could do this, he was positive of that.

"You two thoggy thackth of thit thut the hell up!" Sawyer growled venomously, reaching forward to knock the two tributes heads together. "The thooner thith ith over with, the thooner we can get the fuck outta here."
The next trainer was tall, but he didnt seem especially threatening. Thats how Chandler liked it. He wanted people to underestimate him and everyone from his district, so when their guard is down its easy for the great thinkers of district five to make their move.
"My name is Chandler Riggs. Im here for district five."

Ouija Riggs tried to keep his plastered on smirk from turning into a grimace as he approached his father, his best friend Parker by his side. Parker had been drawn at the reaping and so of course Ouija had volunteered next to him to keep him safe and make sure he got to come home this year. He was not looking forward to facing his father however, knowing the man would disapprove of his choice to give up his own life for Parker's.
"Hey, sup dad?" He gave the man a nervous smile as he reached the man.

Chandler ignored him completely, merely wincing as though he was suffering in some way, one of his hands moving to his chest.
"Proceed." He had nothing more to say. He had done all his screaming and crying in the moments they'd had alone before Ouija had been made to board the train. Now he could barely stand to look at the boy, knowing that he was walking off to his death, so willingly leaving him behind to suffer.
Chandler was grief stricken.
It was as though Ouija was already dead.

"You can't ignore me forever, dad." Ouija sighed softly as he moved off to the side, tugging Parker along with him.
After the District 6 tributes had come and gone, a large man stepped forward, towering over almost everyone in the room.
"District 7. And I don't have all day." He spoke roughly.

"Bitch! You'll fucking stand there as long as it takes me to move my fucking ass!" This bold reply came not from any of the large tributes, but from one of the smallest. "Up yours, splinter dick." Finnick Odair had been a scorn of their district. He was too small to keep up with the insanely large lumber jacks that District six usually produced. Because of this he had become a thief and a notorious trader in the districts black market. Scars on his back proved that he had been caught a few times.
"Come on, Cameron. Lets get this shit fucking over with."

Jesse eyed the two tributes in front of him skeptically. The one boy was tall and lanky, looking pathetically weak. Jesse knew he was pretty much dead already. The other boy, the one who had spoken, was much smaller, but somehow he had more potential. Over his years as a trainer, he’d learned to spot which tributes had a chance and focused most of his efforts on them. He was even a little excited to get started training now. He could always feel when he had a winner on his hands. However, he didn’t let Finn know how much faith he already had in him.
"You look very pathetic to have such a big mouth." Jesse spoke, nearly a sneer.

"And you look very fucking washed up to be teaching us any damn thing about winning." Finn did sneer, his lip curling hatefully as he did so. He was bowing up as though he thought he had a chance against someone as big and brutal as Jesse. Finn had already learned that with his stature, he could never show fear, or else he'd be an even easier target.
"Uhm...." Danny moved past Jesse, a small golden retriever at his side leading the way. It was obvious he was blind with the way he moved, always waiting for his dog to steer him on the right path. Because of this he absolutely hated the years when he had to be a trainer. He had won out of sheer luck, because the other two remaining tributes killed eachother. Even his blindness had been caused by tracker jackers, not some violent confrontation. He had nothing to teach these kids. Nothing to help them survive.

Toni stepped forward cautiously, pretending not to hear the snort of laughter that Jesse let out as he led his own tributes away. He was definitely one of the tributes no one paid attention to, assuming he would be dead within seconds. He was barely five feet tall, all skin and bones with an always nervous look about him. He was not threatening at all. He was extremely glad Danny was his trainer however. Danny was the only trainer here that did not terrify him.
"Toni." He spoke quietly as he approached the blind boy.
