50 Nothings

26. Memorize: Cameron spent many nights trying to memorize each and every one of Kendrick's tattoos. But no matter how hard he tried, or how often he looked at them, he always seemed to find something new.

27. Chance: No one had ever given a second thought to Kendrick, except for Morgue. The man had never written him off, or left him behind. He had given Kendrick a second chance, and because of this Kendrick owed him everything.

28. Friend: Morgue had never been a person with many friends. He scared people off and he accepted that. But he found that he was quite glad he happened to be walking past that night when Kendrick needed someone most. And because of that, he had himself a friend.

29. Stand: Augustus almost could not bare it, Elvis had just gone through his first real break up, and hearing his baby crying through the walls brought pain into him. He was simply glad that Manuel was at work and did not have to hear it.

30. Song: Sometimes, Xavier would hear his and Elvis's song on the radio while he was driving. And he would have to pull over in fear of the tears blurring his vision and causing him to crash.

31. Cradle: Rhett had never been so gentle in his life as he had been when Cove was an infant. He held the boy as though he were fragile, his touch one of a feather on the child. That has continued even as the boy grew. When Rhett held his baby, he did it tenderly.

32. Name: Shannon had always loved his last name. He thought it sounded extremely elegant. But as he grew to love Brice and he realized the chances of marriage were slim to none, he wanted nothing more than for his last name to change to Brooks.

33. Reminders: Printess left many notes around Xavier's home, the most looked at though being the one sitting framed on the mans nightstand, reading simply "Je t'aime."

34. Jealousy: Xavier was never really a jealous man. Even with Elvis, he hadn't cared so much if someone tried to flirt with him. But there was something about Prentiss. When another man even looked at the boy it set Xavier's stomach on fire.

35. Erotica: Prentiss hated the English language. It was far too course to sound anything but obnoxious, but whenever Xavier spoke, he found himself with the chills. The only thing better was to hear the man trying his tongue at French. Many nights they wound up tangled together on the floor because of the way Xavier pronounced the word "Cherie"

36. Clothes: Xavier always dressed however he wanted. He put some thought into it of course but he liked all the clothes he owned and thought they made him look decent. He couldn't have been more shocked by some of the sticky notes he would find on his clothing informing him that he looked like he was homeless when he wore them.

37.  Bloom:  The first time Xavier had ever received flowers from Prentiss, he had found them in his locker at work.  They were Tulips, and they came with their very own card, which read "I've got Tulips! Two lips to kiss you with! Wait for me at the gate. Jusque-là, mon chérie." On the back, Xavier could see where the boys lips had been, colored with a clear gloss.

38. Sick: Xavier absolutely hated being sick around Prentiss. With Elvis, he had always been comfortable sick, and even now he called the man to his side while he was dying. But now, he could never stand the thought of Prentiss seeing him so weak. He had to stay strong for his new lover.

39. Tough: Kendrick was a strong person. Very closed and concealed, untouchable. Yet it was apparent on the nights when he offered Cameron his jacket, or allowed himself to carry the boy home, that he had a soft spot somewhere too.

40. Flutter: Cameron, although he was never as cold as his mother, was not one to be swept off his feet by men. The only man to ever give him butterflies was Killian, and even that was rare. But every time Kendrick so much as looked at him, he couldn't help the fluttering in his stomach.

41. Care: It did not matter where Kendrick was, his mind always found its way too Cameron.

42. Fight: People usually thought Cameron was quite similar to his mother. But this was proven wrong every time Kendrick and Cameron would fight. It would usually end with Cameron begging for forgiveness.

43. Why: Elvis had not understood why it mattered that Prentiss had left a sticky note in his room. The look Xavier wore when he found one on the boys Peter Pan suit demanding he wash it was one of disapproval.

44. Yell: Xavier had never once really yelled at Elvis. Even when they'd gotten in fights while they were dating. That was, until he started dating Prentiss. Scolding Elvis for flirting with Prentiss was a usual event now.

45. Butter: When ever Prentiss was in trouble with his lover, he usually cuddled up to the man, with his fingers massaging gently at Xavier's shoulder blades. He spoke sweet french into his beloveds neck, knowing that no one could stay mad at that.

46. Hug: Xavier could never resist his lover when the boy would speak French. He wished he could though, because Prentiss knew just how to work him to get what he wanted.

47. Rest: The only time Kendrick ever truly rested, was when he was able to hold Cameron in his arms. Then and only then, did he feel everything was right in the world.

48. Special: Although Cameron always insisted to Kendrick that he should not hate Killian because he was really a good man, he secretly adored it. He felt like he was worth something.

49. Shift: Originally, Kendrick did not like Killian because Morgue disliked him. When he learned that Cameron had loved him, that dislike grew to hate, and then to loathing as he learned Killian had been the boys first heart breath. He f*cking despised Killian now.
