Favor of the odds

Bane was already stumbling to his feet as Danny called his name. The flames were rushing up behind them and Bane could feel the smoke tickling at his throat.
He grabbed Danny and threw the boy over his shoulder like he had before, grabbing as much of their supplies as he could along with his bow and arrow before running. Luckily, they were fairly close to the lake, it was in sight. He headed for there, clutching Danny tighter.

Finn had been awake on watch when he noticed the smoke rising in the distance. He had managed to cauterize what was left of his leg in the days before, and luckily a sponsor had sent Jesse a small container of antibotic salve from the capitol. It wasn't much but it worked wonders for Finn's leg, assuring no infection would set in, and for now he would be okay. It is what had Finn able to move around, enough for him to hobble over to Jesse. "Hey, forest fucker! Get the fuck up!" Finn was deathly afraid of fire, already feeling as though he could vomit. The flames moved faster than normal, obviously capitol simulated. They were trying to force the remaining tributes together, hungry for blood shed. The fire was already close enough that Finn could feel the smoke burning his lungs, and it only panicked him further.

Jesse was up and coughing from the smoke as he grabbed Finn and lifted him like he was a rag doll, tossing him over his shoulder.
They had very little supplies so it was easy to grab the remains of Finn's trident and the first aid kit before running right towards the center of the arena, where everyone else was headed as well.

Chandler was quick on his feet. He had not been sleeping well ever since killing that boy from district 1. When he ckosed his eyes, he just saw the boys face, spattered in blood and pale in death. He woke from a nightmare just as the flames started. "Jordan! Holy shit! Tenderfoot! " Chandler almost made himself dizzy with how quickly he picked his lover up. He sat Jordan on his feet, too sleep deprived to carry the boy and their gear. "Come on baby, we have to go!" The urgency in his voice surprised even him. The games had his nerves shot. He slung their bags over his shoulder, grabbing his lovers hand before bolting away from the approaching flames

Jordan grabbed what little bit Chandler hadn't already gotten, including some spears he figured they might need if they were going straight where all the other tributes were. But it was either that or burn to death.
"Be ready in case there are others!" Jordan warned his lover as he ran beside him.
