"We're both gonna have to get jobs." He nodded with a sigh. "I'll find something to do." He glanced down at Rhett, stroking his hair. "You'd be good at arm strongs..."

"I know it, the man has offered me work plenty. Imma have to find somewhere to put Rhett when I work.".
Trever didnt seem worried though, more excited than anything.

"I can watch him probably. Just gotta make sure we're not working at the same time." He nodded, thinking of what he could do. He wasn't good at much of anything.

Trever paused, looking up at his friend.
"Armstrong pays okay. I think l can support us."

"Trev... are you sure?" Barry frowned deeply. "I don't want to make you do that..."

"Itll be fine.". Not quite what he bargined for but he didnt mind it. He was glad to be with Barry.

"Just until I can find somewhere to work too." He nodded lightly. "Then we can both work.."

A month passed, Trever had been hired and he worked steadily through the week. Monday through Saturday. Eight to five, and on Saturday he worked eight to twelve. He made around four fifty a week, and was paid under the table since he was young. Rhett was thriving, though he was now in a more run down house, he was out of the clutches of his father.

And Barry made sure the young boy was never alone or upset. He took care of Rhett like he was his own son, and even though they barely had any money still, Rhett was never left to go hungry or without anything he wanted. His needs came before everything else.

And Rhett, even though just a child, found that he really appreciated everything that was done for him. Especially Barry, to him Barry was the one to keep him safe. He never considered Trever, he was so used to Trever taking care if him that he never thought to thank him.
Currently Trever was off work, watching Rhett play on the slides being he and Barry had taken him to a park. As Rhett slipped quickly down the slide, he raised his arms and cried out "Daddeh!!!! Daddeh look ahm sliden" the boy looked directly at Barry as he squealed.

Barry was a bit confused at first, but then he realized Rhett was calling him daddy... and it warmed his heart.
He beamed at the boy, clapping his hands.
"Ya sure are baby, good job." He smiled softly down at the child as he got to the ground.

Rhett nodded his head, bounding over to the swings and letting himself get lost in that like little children were prone to do. Mean while Trever had made his way off from them and into the near by woods, intent on capturing that small cat he had found running around the park.

Barry moved to push the boy on the swings for a bit before looking around and realizing Trever had gone.
He made sure no one else was in the park to hurt Rhett before walking a bit away into the forest.
"Trev?" He called.

Trever cursed softly under his breath, darting away from the mangled remains of the cat and attempting to wipe the blood from his hands onto his jeans.
"Yeah?"

"Hey where'd you go?" Barry smiled softly before noticing the substance on Trever's hands and jeans. "Um Trever?" His brow furrowed.

"Yeah?" Trever cocked his head to the side, moving around Barry and back towards the park.

"Trever what's that on your hands?" It sure as hell looked like blood. "What were you doing back here?" Barry looked over his shoulder back at where Trever had came from.

"Just lokking around.". Trever spoke innocently " Did you leave Rhett all alone?"

"He's fine. You didn't answer the question though... what's on your hands?" Barry frowned

"Nothing?" Trever frowned at him, irritation slipping into his voice. "I cant believe you left Rhett to get raped by someone!" He disliked his brother being anywhere he couldnt lay eyes on him.

"No one else was there." Barry sighed, tugging Trever back to peek at Rhett still peacefully swinging. "You're acting weird, Trever. Tell me that is not blood." Barry frowned.

"Its nothing." Trever growled softly at his friend, his eyes narrowing dangerously. "Now come on, what if someone comes along and takes him off?"

"Fine but we're talking about this later Trever. I'm not letting it go." Something was off and he knew it...

Trever rolled his eyes at his friend, he was not talking about it and that was just how it was.
Screw talking about it.
"Just come on before some sexual predator runs off with my brother." The boy spoke over his shoulder, already making his way back to the park.

Barry jogged ahead, walking up to Rhett on his swings and pecking the boy's forehead before giving him another push on the swingset.
