I Could Not Ask For More

"Daddy ish out dere on tha couch." He nodded lightly, grinning at Kaiden. He had missed his brother.

"I think we need to fix that." Misery murmured softly, glancing at his door. "Carter!" He called out softly. "Carter come here!!"
Kaiden crawled over his mother, falling over him and into his brother.
"Hi Bubba! I mished ew!"

Carter popped his head in the door a few seconds later.
"Hey babies." He grinned, plopping on the bed.
Quinn hugged Kaiden lightly.
"I mished you too! Ish you still sick?"

Misery chuckled at his lover, moving to snuggle against Carter.
"I think that they will be okay in the same room. Quinn will get it sooner or later. Might as well take it in stride."
Kaiden coughed lightly, covering his mouth with his hand. "I ish sick bubba! I dont feel dood!" He whined pitifully.

"Poor thing." Carter frowned at Kaiden, ruffling the boy's hair.
"Aww! I tan make you feel bettew." Quinn hugged the boy tightly. "That makes me feel bettew when mwomma does it." He nodded.

Misery grinned proudly at his son, wrapping both boys in his arms and pulling them tight to his chest. Kaiden snuggled into his brother, sniffling lightly. "You dosh make me fewl better." He paused, adding afterwards. "Momma and dadda do two..."

"Dood!" Quinn nodded proudly. "I hope you ish bettew soon." Carter smiled lightly at all of them, kissing the top of both of their heads as he laid back and took Misery's hand.

"I wanna be bwetter sow we tan pway." Kaiden nodded his head, grinning happily at his father. "I mished ew dadda!" Misery squeezed Carter's hand, nuzzling Quinn's cheek.
It was hard to imagine that they had almost lost their boys....

"I missed you too baby. How you feeling?" Carter smiled softly at his son.

"Yuckie." Kaiden crinkled his nose up, reaching out to lightly touch his fathers hair. "I down wike being sick."

"I don't like you being sick either." Carter frowned as he scooped Kaiden up, pressing him to his chest.

Kaiden got comfortable there, soothed out by his fathers heart beat and the steady rise and fall of his chest.
"Dadda, when I ish not sick tan we dow det ice cweam?"
Misery snickered softly, glancing at his son. "You know I have ice cream here."

"But that's not as fun as going to get ice cream. Duh." Carter chuckled at his lover as he held Kaiden. "Of course we can baby."

Kaiden nodded his head, sticking his tongue out at Misery to which his mother just shrugged.
"Not hurting my feelings, means more for me."

Carter smiled at Misery.
"We're all going out for ice cream and then we can come back home and eat momma's ice cream anyways." Carter nodded.

"Pshhhh, it'll all be gone by then." Misery was sure of it, he ate like there was no tomorrow and he just continued and continued.
Kaiden nodded his head at his father.
"Why dont momma get fat?"

"Cause momma's tummy is weird. It's different than ours." Carter explained simply. The kids didn't need to know details yet. "He feels hungry all the time but doesn't get fat."

Misery laughed softly as his lover explained, he did a better job than he would have done. If Misery were to explain he would probably scar the children.
Kaiden nodded as if he understood.

Quinn crawled over to pat his mother's stomach, pulling up his shirt to trace scars lightly with a hum.
"I wike ewer tummy." He nodded.

Misery arched an eye brow at his son, watching him intently.
"And why is that?" He reached down, his one fingers dancing over his many scars.

"Tuss it's flat and it has all dese weird bumpy lines." The boy nodded, staring at the scars with fascination.

Misery grinned at his son, shaking his head as amusement filled him. "You like my bumpy lines baby?" He hoped his son would never have any.

"Mhmmm, dey ish fun to play wif." He nodded, poking one of the scars with a grin.

Misery shook his head at the boy. "How in the word do you play with them?" His son had a wile imagination.

"I wike pokin' em!" Quinn nodded. "Dat's how I pway wif em!" He smiled.
